New Delhi : Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi gave Prime Minister Narendra Modi the highest award in Egypt, called the 'Order of the Nile.' This is the 13th time that PM Modi has received such a prestigious award from different countries, and it makes India proud. During his time as Prime Minister, which has been nine years, PM Modi has received many international awards, including the Companion of the Order of Logohu, Companion of the Order of Fiji, and Ebakl Award from the Republic of Palau.

In addition to receiving the award, PM Modi and President El-Sisi signed an agreement called the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Cairo, Egypt. PM Modi also visited the Heliopolis War Cemetery and paid tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the First World War. He also visited the Al-Hakim Mosque, which is an important historical and cultural site in Cairo. This mosque represents the shared cultural heritage of India and Egypt. The Dawoodi Bohra community played a crucial role in restoring the Al-Hakim Mosque.

The Al-Hakim Mosque is significant because it represents the blending of Indian and Egyptian cultures and holds religious and historical importance. PM Modi's visit to Egypt is part of a state visit that takes place from June 24 to 25. This visit is in response to President El-Sisi's presence as the Chief Guest at India's Republic Day celebrations earlier this year. Both visits have strengthened the relationship between India and Egypt and elevated their status to a strategic partnership.

During his visit, PM Modi had a roundtable meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly. When he arrived at the hotel in Cairo, he received a warm welcome from the Indian community, with people chanting "Vande Mataram" and "Modi Modi." The Indian diaspora showed their enthusiasm by waving the Indian flag and singing Indian songs. Children also participated in the welcoming activities.
