Imran Khan calls India 'arrogant' over cancelling peace talks

New Delhi : Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday slammed India for cancelling his offer of peace talks, calling the tri-colour nation 'arrogant'.

Prime Minister's Officehowever did not make any response over Imran Khan's tweet.

India had rejected the offer of meeting on the backdrops of killings of Indian policemen in Jammu and Kashmir violence, majorly due to Pakistan-backed terrorist groups. India also pointed to the recent release of a series of 20 postage stamps by Pakistan glorifying terrorists killed in India. Rising incidents of violence ahead of panchayat polls in J&K only strengthened fears that the new government’s overtures and appeals to support the “peace constituency” are not matched by Pakistan Army’s actions.

MEA sharply backing their rejection claimed that Imran Khan's instant offer is enough to expose Pakistan's evil agenda, revealing true face of Imran Khan to the world.

In response to India’s cancellation, Islamabad pointed out the “alleged” killing and mutilation of a Border Security Force personnel took place two days prior to the Indian announcement of its agreement to hold the bilateral meeting. Pakistan also raised the point that the postage stamps were issued before the July 25 elections, following which Prime Minister Imran Khan assumed office.
