Islamabad : Imran Khan's party - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf or PTI - is planning on inviting SAARC Nation leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the oath-taking ceremony that is scheduled for August 11.

PTI emerged out as a single largest party in July 25 Assembly Elections of Pakistan. However, it will require some support to complete the number for forming the government.

"The core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is considering inviting the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) heads including Mr Modi and a decision on this is expected shortly," a leader from Imran Khan's party told news agency PTI (Press Trust of India).

Post Pakistan Assembly Election results, India Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a call to Imran Khan and called for peace and development in the South Asian neighbourhood.

"Prime Minister spoke to Imran Khan, Chairperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party and congratulated him for his party emerging as the largest political party in the National Assembly of Pakistan in the recently conducted general elections," the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

"Prime Minister expressed hope that democracy will take deeper roots in Pakistan," the statement said, adding Modi "also reiterated his vision of peace and development in the entire neighbourhood".
