Washington : The Central Government denied claims of letting the United States forces use Indian air space to carryout air strikes on Iran's nuclear facility Saturday night's Operation Midnight Hammer.

In an official statement released by Press Information Bureau (PIB), the viral post was tagged as false. "Several social media accounts have claimed that Indian airspace was used by the United States to launch aircraft against Iran during Operation Midnight Hammer. This claim is FAKE," the PIB said.

During a press conference, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Dan Caine also talked about the actual path which was used by US Air Forces to carryout the air strikes.

The clarification came after several posts on social media claimed that the US Air Forces used Indian space for the operation, which the US has called one of the most sophisticated aerial operation in decades.

Operation Midnight Hammer, carried out late Saturday night, targeted Iran’s key nuclear infrastructure in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, using 75 precision-guided weapons, including 14 GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs, launched by stealth bombers and submarines.
