DNA test confirms Jeddah bombings suicide bomber as Indian national: Saudi Arabia

Dubai : The Saudi Arabia authorities on Monday confirmed that DNA sample of one of the most wanted terrorists from Beed in Maharashtra matched with the DNA sample of a suicide bomber involved in Jeddah bombings in 2016.

Kagzi's DNA samples were sent to Saudi Arabia authorities in August 2017 on the basis of his resemblance to the 2016 Jeddah bombings suicide bomber.

"We have received confirmation from Saudi Arabian authorities that the DNA samples of Kagzi sent by us last year have matched those of the Jeddah bomber," an official told The Indian Express.

Fayaz Kagzi is believed to be the mastermind of blasts at German Bakery in 2010 and on J M Road in 2012. He is also alleged of teaching Hindi language to 26/11 Mumbai attackers.

With DNA match, Kagzi has been confirmed as one of the four bombers who attacked Saudi Arabia at three different locations. He had allegedly blown himself up while police tried to arrest him near the US consulate in Jeddah.

“…security men suspected a person while he was heading to the Prophet’s Mosque through a vacant lot of land used as a parking space for visitors’ cars. When they intercepted him, he blew himself by an explosive belt, which resulted in his death, the deaths of four security men, and the injury of five other security men,” the Saudi Press agency said.
