Life under Taliban: Afghanistan TV news anchor now sells street food
New Delhi : A former TV anchor from Afghanistan is left with no option than to sell street food to earn a living in the nation which is now under Taliban rule.
The story of the anchor is being shared by many people on social media criticizing the situation of Afghan economy under Taliban.
Kabul University lecturer Kabir Haqmal tweeted the story of Musa Mohammadi, portraying the life of journalists after Taliban took over the nation on August 15 last year.
According to one of his former colleague, he is forced to sell the street food as he has to take care of his ill mother.
The economy in Afghanistan has fallen sharply after August 2021; according to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), it is estimated that the 97 per cent of the total population of the nation will fall into poverty by mid 2022.
