Make in India, make it a manufacturing hub: PM Modi in ASEAN

Manila : Prime Minister Narendra Modi at ASEAN Summit said that his government wants to make India a manufacturing hub. He asked businessmen to invest in India as most sectors in Indian Economy are now open for foreign investment.

"We want to make India a global manufacturing hub and we want to make our youngsters job creators," PM Narendra Modi said at ASEAN Summit in Manila.

He also praised his government's initiative – Digital India – and claimed that his officers are working day and night towards easy, effective and transparent governance.

"Task of transforming India is proceeding at an unprecedented scale. We are working day and night towards easy, effective and transparent governance. Digital transactions have increased significantly. We are using technology to reach out to people," Prime Minister Modi said.

"Keeping emphasis on 'minimum government, maximum governance', about 1200 outdated laws have been repealed in the last three years," Prime Minister Modi added.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the US President Donald Trump and held discussions over the topics of their mutual interests. (READ Full story here)

After meeting Trump, he told media, "The relations between India and the US are growing. Our relations go further for future interests of Asia and humanity."

He further added the US and India would come up to the expectations of the world and the US.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had landed in Manila on Sunday for a three-day visit.
