Pakistan government notifies fake social media account on their name

New Delhi : These days finding a fan account and fake account is very common on social media, people often make them for instant fame on social media and then earn some extra money off it. The Pakistan government on Wednesday early morning alerted the residents about such account.

"Be aware of fake accounts and fake news! @pid_govt is fake account No entry sign trying to represent Government of Pakistan. Such actions create confusion and are a disservice to the country. Be responsible," wrote Pakistan government while sharing a screenshot of the fake account.

Soon after the government alerted its citizens, the targeted twitter account came back with a justification of how their intention was to work in favour of the government.

"You are right, this is a fake account, but the purpose of making this account is not to spread the wrong news, and only the government of Pakistan and the prime minister's message. It is to reach that People can find out the good step taken by the @pid_gov for the country of," they wrote in justification.

The governments across the world are making endless efforts to ensure no unreliable news source prevails in the society that may lead to confusion and panic among their citizens.
