Pakistan PM Imran Khan tests coronavirus positive
Islamabad : Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for coronavirus; he has been kept under house isolation, said Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Pakistani PM on health services.
"PM Imran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating at home," Faisal Sultan tweeted without mentioning much about it.
PM Imran Khan had been attending a series of meetings in last few days, including a security conference held in capital Islamabad in which a large number of people had come.
Interestingly, he was vaccinated on Thursday.
New coronavirus cases in Pakistan are on a rise; the total number of cases in Pakistan now stand at 6.15 lakh and the death count has crossed over 13,700.
Most of the new cases came from Pakistan's largest and richest province, Punjab.
Recently, it was reported that Pakistan will soon get Made-in-India vaccines under the United Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization or GAVI.
Pakistan is among the only SAARC nation which had refused to take India’s COVID-19 vaccine, instead go with a Chinese vaccine.
