New Delhi : 45 million 'made in India' coronavirus vaccines will be given to Pakistan by GAVI, an international vaccine alliance that works to increase access to immunization in poor countries.

Pakistan is among the only SAARC nation which refused to take India’s COVID-19 vaccine, instead go with a Chinese vaccine.

It is known that Pakistan aims to tackle the coronavirus via herd immunity and donated vaccines from the world.

China pharmaceutical company Sinopharm has committed to providing one million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Pakistan.

According to a news report, it has been learned that Pakistan will be getting 16 million free doses of India-made Oxford-Astrazeneca’s coronavirus vaccine through GAVI. It will cover 20 per cent of Pakistan’s population.
