Prove one allegation against me and I will hang myself: WFI chief
New Delhi : Amid the rising protest wave over sexual harassment allegations, the Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has challenged to prove even one allegation against him and he will hang himself.
He stated, "In the event that any accusation against me is substantiated, I will take full responsibility by subjecting myself to the appropriate consequences. If any of you (wrestlers) possess any evidence, I urge you to present it before the Court, as I am prepared to face any punishment that may arise."
WFI chief's statement came on the day when Delhi Police first tweeted that the case against him is still being investigated and the final report will be submitted to the court. Later, the information was deleted from the social media page.
The official account posted a tweet in Hindi, which stated, "Certain media channels have been erroneously reporting the filing of a final report by the police regarding the case filed by the women wrestlers. This information is entirely incorrect. The case remains under active investigation, and a comprehensive report will only be presented to the court once the investigation is concluded."
The clarification was posted against the claims made by an unidentified policeman who said that they have not found enough evidence against the WFI chief and the report has been submitted to the court.
