New Delhi : Reaffirming support for India's bid for a permanent membership in UNSC, Russia on Saturday raised its voice for the comprehensive reforms in the United Nations Security Council to make it more effective and representative. 

On the sidelines of BRICS Summit in Goa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a joint statement, "India and Russia called for comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council to make it more effective and representative of the contemporary geo-political realities. Russia reaffirmed its support for India's candidature for a permanent membership of a reformed and expanded UN Security Council."
