Three more Indians booked for spreading hate speech in UAE
Dubai : Dubai is keeping a close eye over the comments, especially those which may affect the religious sentiments in the nation.
According to a report, three Indians have been booked in UAE over the spread of hate speech, diplomatic sources confirmed that this has been done under the Gulf country’s campaign to monitor community activities by expat Indians as intense social media exchanges between Indian and Gulf commentators continue.
The men who have been booked are identified as Rohit Rawat, a chef employed with a high-end Italian restaurant, Sachin Kinnigoli, a storekeeper and an employee with the Transguard group who posted offensive messages in a Facebook page in the name of Vishal Thakur.
All the three individuals have been terminated from their posts and the administration in Dubai is booking charges against them as per the its Cybercrime Law No 5 of 2012.
It has been learned that the country has become more vigilant over the hate comments and has adopted no tolerance policy, especially against the ones which hit religious sentiments.
