Yogurt attack on two Iranian women for not covering hair – video

Iran : 2 Iranian women were attacked with a tub of yogurt for allegedly not covering their head in the public.

The whole incident was captured in the CCTV footage of a grocery store and the video has now gone viral on social media. The footage shows a man coming to the shop and confronting 2 women standing without covering their head. After a few words, the man can be seen picking up a tub of yogurt from the stack and attacking the women with it.

However, later in the video the attacker can be seen getting pushed out of the shop by the shopkeeper.

Recently, it was ruled that no women will be allowed to show their hair in public areas. Under this, the women have been detained for allegedly showing their hair. Iran Judiciary has said that the man has also been arrested for disturbing the public orders.

The incident comes after months of protests in the country by women demanding an end on compulsory wearing of hijab. At present, not wearing hijab in the public area is illegal for women in Iran. However, several women can be seen strolling in big cities without it.
