Los Angeles : For all those who are wondering why ‘WELCOME TO CANADA’ tweet is making rounds on Twitter, it is because of the ’Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The PM has left a message for refugees rejected by US President Donald Trump saying that Canada welcomes you.

On Sunday he tweeted, “To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada."

Trudeau also reacted to Trump's visa ban for people from certain Muslim-majority countries and stated that he intends to talk to Trump about the success of Canada's refugee policy.

Adding to his expressions, he posted a picture of him greeting a Syrian child at Toronto's airport in late 2015. The Prime Minister oversaw the arrival of more than 39,000 Syrian refugees soon after he was elected.

Trudeau’s spokeswoman Kate Purchase informed AP, "The Prime Minister is looking forward to discussing the successes of Canada's immigration and refugee policy with the President when they next speak."

Soon, Trudeau is expected to visit the White House.

He so far has refrained from making any comments on Donald Trump like Mexico as more than 75 percent of Canada's exports go to the U.S.

On Friday, Trump signed an executive order banning "radical Islamic terrorists" from coming to the U.S and laid a ban of 90-days on citizens of Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen and a 120-day suspension of the U.S. refugee program.

Trudeau's tweet quickly received more than 150,000 likes. "Welcome to Canada" trended on social media in the country.
