Delhi : The most expensive electric scooter on the market in India, the X, from TVS Motors, has been released with a starting price of INR 2.50 lakh. This scooter offers the Indian electric scooter industry a number of outstanding characteristics.

As India's first electric scooter with single-channel ABS, the TVS X increases safety when braking. It has an outstanding range of 140 km on a single charge thanks to a 4.4 kWh battery. A portable 950W charger that charges to 80% in 4 hours and 30 minutes costs INR 16,275 (including GST) and the Smart X Home quick charger, which can charge the battery from 0% to 50% in only 50 minutes (with an optional 3kW fast charger add-on).

A Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with a peak power output of 11kW and a peak torque of 40Nm is hidden behind the X's svelte body. The scooter can accelerate quickly thanks to this configuration, going from 0 to 40 kph in just 2.6 seconds and reaching a peak speed of 105 kph. The X has regenerative braking in addition to three riding modes: Xtealth, Xtride, and Xonic.

The X has a sophisticated 10.25-inch TFT display that offers versatility by letting riders change its orientation. In order to play music and get navigational warnings, Bluetooth connection is available. Riders may also use the PlayTech entertainment system to watch films or play games while they are still moving. There are additional convenience features such a hill-hold function, cruise control, and reverse assist.

The TVS X features a distinctive design that was influenced by the renowned Creon concept, which was first displayed at the 2018 Auto Expo. Notably, it does away with the conventional floorboard in favour of a layout where the spine of the frame takes up that area. Additionally, the scooter features an uncommon split-seat design and has 19 litres of storage space under the seat.

The TVS X has a hefty price tag of INR 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom) despite its high-end amenities. It is noteworthy that it is ineligible for the FAME-II subsidy. Bookings for the X have started, and deliveries are anticipated to start in November 2023, first in Bengaluru and then nationally by March 2024. The first 2,000 purchasers will also get a free smartwatch and a "Curated Concierge" package worth INR 18,000 for free.

With its remarkable performance, cutting-edge technology, and distinctive look, the TVS X seeks to raise the bar for the electric scooter industry in India. However, given its high price, it stands apart from other electric scooters in the nation.
