Delhi : Three vehicles from Honda Cars India are no longer available in India  fourth-generation City Sedan, the WR-V compact SUV, and the Jazz hatchback. To meet with BS6 Phase 2 emission regulations, the Japanese manufacturer has chosen not to upgrade them. All three vehicles were also nearing the end of their useful lives and had a lengthy history of poor sales success. With this change, the automaker now only offers the fifth-generation City and Amaze small sedans.

In addition to the fifth-generation Honda City, which debuted in 2020, the fourth-generation Honda City went on sale in 2014. A BS6 upgrade for the Honda Jazz hatchback was released in 2020 after its initial introduction in 2014. Early in 2017, the Honda WR-V, which was basically built on the Jazz, entered the market. Comparatively speaking, the small SUV outsold the fourth-generation City and Jazz in terms of sales.

Before India's RDE (Real Driving Emissions) standards went into effect, the Japanese automaker halted manufacturing of its 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine. To comply with the new, more stringent emission rules, diesel engines need significant expenditures.

A midsize SUV, Honda's third and most important model, is expected to make its premiere in May 2023 before going on sale. The Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, and Toyota Hyryder will be placed in opposition to it in this test. The new Honda SUV's powertrain configuration is expected to include a 1.5L iVTEC gasoline engine and a 1.5L Atkinson cycle with e:HEV hybrid technology.

In the fifth model City, both engines are used. The powerful hybrid system produces 109 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque, compared to the normal petrol engine's highest output of 121 horsepower and 145 pound-feet. It is available with a conventional or CVT automatic transmission. The new Honda SUV will share style cues with the SUVs sold worldwide by the company.
