Vishal Sikka resigns, Pravin Rao becomes interim CEO of Infosys

New Delhi : Vishal Sikka on Friday resigned as MD, CEO of Infosys Ltd with immediate effect. Pravin Rao has been selected as the interim CEO of the company for now.

"The Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Vishal Sikka... with immediate effect at its meeting held on Friday," India’s no. 2 software services exporter said in a statement.

The company has started looking for a new name who will be suitable to occupy the Vishal Sikka's responsibilities in the company.

Sikka cited among his reasons for leaving “a continuous stream of distractions and disruptions” in recent months, quarters, the company said.

Mr Sikka will remain a part of Infosys as vice chairman with an annual salary of $1.
