"Rash driving resulting in collision": Case filed against Shabana Azmi's car driver

Raigadh : The Raigadh Police has filed an FIR against Shabana Azmi's driver Amlesh Kamat after a major accident of her car on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. In the accident, Shabana Azmi was seriously injured and her husband Javed Akhtar was terribly terrified.

The FIR has been registered by the truck driver, whose vehicle the car rammed into from behind. The FIR mentioned, "Due to rash driving by the driver, the car hit the moving truck on Pune-Mumbai Expressway which resulted in the accident."

Shabana Azmi was taken to the Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where her treatment is going on. According to the doctors, the actress is now stable and under observation. Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar were on their way to Pune when the accident took place. She was sitting next to the driver and sustained injuries on her face including neck and chin and near the eye.

Soon after the accident, she was first taken to the MGM Hospital and then later she was shifted to Ambani Hospital.

Several Bollywood celebrities and political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi have prayed for her speedy recovery.
