Coronavirus: Delhi records 10 per cent less cases than yesterday, deaths highest since June

New Delhi : Delhi on Thursday recorded 43 deaths related to coronavirus, highest since June 10 last year when 44 people had died. In the last 24 hours, Delhi has registered 12,306 new coronavirus cases, which is 10.72 per cent lower than yesterday's number (13,785). 

The positivity rate (the number of cases detected per 100 tests) dropped to 21.48 per cent from 23.8 per cent a day before. Total deaths stand at 25,503.

Since last few days, the daily infections in the national capital have been declining. On Tuesday, the city registered 11,684 cases, on Monday, it was 12,587 cases, on Sunday it was 18,286, on Saturday the figure was  20,718 while on Friday it was 24,383.

As per official date, the national capital currently has 68,730 active cases, including 53,593 patients in home isolation. The recovery rate stands at 94.64 per cent.

Currently, there are 40,756 containment zones in the city.
