IndiGo Ailines executive murder lands Nitish Kumar in big political trouble

Patna : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had to face massive criticism from the Opposition leaders after an alleged murder of an IndiGo airlines executive in Patna. Many leaders raised demands of his resignation from the CM post.

Rupesh Kumar Singh, 44, a manager with the private airline, was shot dead last evening outside the gates of his home, barely two km from the Chief Minister’s residence.

A BJP MP has called for a CBI investigation in the matter and tagged it as 'sad and shocking'.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, on the other hand, spoke to DGP SK Singhal and sought the latest update in the murder case of IndiGo’s Patna-based airport manager Rupesh Kumar Singh.

DGP has assured Nitish Kumar that speedy actions are being taken in the matter and they have formed a SIT to investigate in the matter.

Meanwhile, the CM has asked the police to produce results and arrest the criminals involved as soon as possible.

“Any kind of incident of crime will not be tolerated in the state. Police must take stern actions against the criminals,” Nitish said in a statement, released by the state’s Information and public relations department (IPRD).
