New Delhi : In a thrilling encounter at Queen Sports Club in Bulawayo, the Netherlands cricket team emerged victorious over Scotland by four wickets in an intense ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier match. With this win, the Netherlands has clinched a spot in the highly anticipated ODI World Cup 2023, set to take place in India from October to November.

By securing the final available spot in the qualifying round, the Netherlands joins Sri Lanka as the second team to successfully qualify for the 10-team tournament. The eight remaining spots were claimed by India, Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and South Africa, all of whom finished in the top eight of the World Cup Super League.

Having outperformed Scotland, the Dutch team will now face off against Sri Lanka in the final of the qualifying tournament, scheduled for Sunday. Despite the outcome of this match, both teams have already guaranteed their places in the ODI World Cup, rendering the result somewhat inconsequential.

The Netherlands last participated in an ODI World Cup in 2011 when the tournament was last hosted in India. The team also featured in the 1996, 2003, and 2007 editions of the World Cup, showcasing their experience and longstanding presence on the global cricket stage.

Cricket enthusiasts around the world eagerly await the ODI World Cup 2023, where the Netherlands will join other cricket powerhouses in a battle for the ultimate glory in one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments.
