New Delhi : India will be playing their next cricket series against West Indies, starting from July 12. Rohit Sharma will continue as the Test skipper while it has been learned that Cheteshwar Pujara is likely to be dropped from the Test squad considering his bad form.

A report also suggests that Mohammed Shami will also miss the Test series against West Indies as the management has decided to give him a break to avoid cricket fatigue on him. Sanju Samson is likely to be given a chance to play in the ODIs and T20s.

In the past days, a lot of questions have been raised over the form of Cheteshwar Pujara. To put things in perspective, Pujara has scored only one Test century since 2020. He has played 28 Test matches since then.

His performance in the recent World Test Championship final has also made things worse for him. He failed to put any remarkable score in both the innings and gifted his wicket to the Australia.

Team India had to face a 209-run defeat against Australia. India's defeat in the WTC final marked their second consecutive loss in the prestigious event, with their previous defeat against New Zealand in the inaugural edition at Lord's.
