Delhi : BMW has launched the sportier version of the X3 SUV in India, known as the X3 M40i. Let's take a closer look at the features that come with this model.

Sportier Design Elements

The X3 M40i boasts design enhancements such as blacked-out kidney grills, smoked shadow LED headlights, gloss black side mirrors, black dual exhaust pipes, 20-inch dual spoke M alloy wheels, and red painted brake callipers. All these features add to the aggressive look of the SUV.

M Sport Highlights Inside the Cabin

The X3 M40i features an all-black interior with Sensatec black upholstery highlighted by carbon fiber elements. Other interior features include an M leather steering wheel and M Sport seat belts with red and blue stripes. It also comes equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, powered front seats with memory function, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and a three-zone climate control system.

More Power Under the Hood

The X3 M40i is powered by a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generating 360PS and 500Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and features BMW's all-wheel-drive system. Despite slightly lower power output compared to the M340i, the X3 M40i can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds.

More Mechanical Upgrades

The X3 M40i receives mechanical upgrades to enhance its performance, including an adaptive M Sport suspension system with electronically controlled dampers for improved comfort and performance on varying road conditions. The M Sport differential system electronically adjusts power distribution to avoid understeer or oversteer during hard cornering. Additionally, a variable sport steering system and M Sport brakes are implemented for enhanced handling, feedback, and braking performance.

Safety Features

The X3 M40i prioritizes safety with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control.

Pricing and Availability

The X3 M40i is priced at Rs 86.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and is being offered as a completely built-up (CBU) unit. The carmaker has already begun accepting orders for the X3 M40i for a token amount of Rs 5 lakh.
