TikTok registers $6 billion loss since ban in India

New Delhi : Chinese tech giant Bytedance is anticipating a revenue loss of around $6 billion after three of its popular mobile applications, including TikTok, have been banned in India.

TikTok and 58 other mobile applications with Chinese links have been banned in India allegedly over engagement in activities "prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order."

The ban comes days after violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops along the LAC in eastern Ladkah. 20 Indian soldiers were martyred and around 70 were injured in the violent clash.

The $6 billion amount is most likely more than the combined losses for all the other Chinese apps banned by India, China’s Caixinglobal.com reported.
