15 dead as fire breaks out at Kamla Mills in Mumbai

Mumbai : At least 15 people have been killed and nearly 12 are injured after a massive fire broke out at Kamla Mills in Lower Parel locality of Mumbai.

The injured people were rushed to the nearby Kinf Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital, said the Disaster Management Unit (DMU).

According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have started at a restaurant, Mojo Bistro a little after 12.30 am on Thursday and spread quickly. Witnesses said the entire building was engulfed in flames in less than half-an-hour.

Six fire tenders were trying to douse the fire till last reports. They took control of the fire and had started the rescue operations.

As per the reports, the building is located near various media houses, like Mirror Now, ET Now and Times Now.

Short circuit is believed to be a reason behind this sudden fire.
