Mathura violence: 24 people including SP, SHO killed in clash

Mathura : UP cops have arrested nearly 365 people in connection with the violence in Mathura, the incident which has killed 24 people including SP and SHO of the area.

He said among those arrested, 58 are accused in the case registered on a complaint by Sadar police station officer Pradip Kumar while rest people were held for breach of peace.

58 weapons and 184 used cartridges were also recovered from the area where Superintendent of Police (City) Mukul Dwivedi and Farah Station House Officer Santosh Yadav were killed.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also ordered probe in the matter and has assured no guilty will be spared.

“We have identified four main boys who are behind this entire incident and absconding right now,” said Daljeet Singh, Additional Director General (law and order) of Uttar Pradesh Police.

The entire area (Jawahar Bagh) has been cleared for now.
