New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid homage to all the men and women who resisted Emergency. He posted his thoughts on social media and targeted then ruling Congress party.

"Today is a day to pay homage to all those great men and women who resisted the Emergency. The #DarkDaysOfEmergency remind us of how the Congress Party subverted basic freedoms and trampled over the Constitution of India which every Indian respects greatly," PM wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

In another social media post, PM shared his ground zero experience during the emergency.

"The #DarkDaysOfEmergency were very challenging times. In those days, people across all walks of life came together and resisted this attack on democracy. I also had numerous experiences working with various people during that time," PM Modi wrote in caption to his post.
