Police suspect ISI hand in Kanpur train accident, three arrested

Kanpur train tragedy: ISI hand suspected

Kanpur : Bihar Police has unearthed concrete lead in Kanpur train tragedy that killed 148 passengers, indicating Pakistani agency ISI behind it.

The Indore-Patna express had derailed near Kanpur on November 21. The cops have arrested three people on charge of involvement in the incident.

“One of three accused has told investigators that they planted a pressure cooker-based improvised explosive device near the railway track in Kanpur which resulted in the derailment. But his confession needed to be verified by independent corroboratory evidence. They claim to have done it for money,” Hindustan Times quoted a central counter-terror official in its report with a mention that he spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to speak to the media.

Now, all the three detainees will be quizzed by Uttar Pradesh anti-terrorist squad (ATS) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) to know the hidden details and ISI involvement in the incident.
