New Delhi : The vehicle speed limits on Yamuna Expressway have been decreased from 15 December 2022 onwards till 15 February 2023. The decision has been taken to reduce accident probability in case of fog and winter situation.

For light vehicles, the speed limit has been decreased from 100kmph to 80 kmph and for heavy vehicles the maximum speed has been set to 60 kmph.

The Yamuna authority director Arunvir Singh has been quoted by a news report in which he claimed that Greater Noida to Agra is covered under 168 kilometres and has been covered by forests on both sides, which increases fog on the road and to control accidents the speeds have been reduced.

The Yamuna Expressway is widely used by vehicles to commute between Agra and Lucknow. With the help of reduced speed, the travel time may increase, but it will ensure safety of people using the road in winters.
