Proud Moment! Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthman's parents get standing ovation in flight to Delhi

New Delhi : Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthman's parents received a standing ovation from the passengers of a plane they were travelling in from Chennai to Delhi. 

When passengers sharing the flight with them realised who they were, not only did everyone wait at their seats to allow them to deplane first, the proud parents were cheered on with a standing ovation and a chorus of gratitude. People tweeted videos of the same.

They will now reach Wagah Border to receive their son, who will first go with IAF officials for medical checkups.

The whole nation is geared up to welcome back their hero,  three days after his MiG-21 Bison was shot down in Pakistan and he was captured by that country's military.

As per information, he will return to India via Wagah Border by Friday evening.
