East Delhi Best Delhi Foundation organises free health check-up camp; launches dedicated WhatsApp helpline for BPL families
New Delhi : The East Delhi Best Delhi Foundation, under the leadership of Mr. Sumit Suneja, organised a free health check-up camp at Rajdhani Nikunj , and launched a dedicated Free Medicine Helpline Number for BPL card holders – 9217754140, aimed at supporting poor families who cannot afford essential medicines.
The event was graced by distinguished Chief Guests Mr. Chandan Kumar (Communication In-Charge, Training Department, BJP Headquarters) and Shri Dheeraj Ji (Prachar Pramukh). Also present were Mr. Rajeev Bhargava (Head of Office, Drug Control Department, GNCT Delhi) and Mr. B.M. Aggarwal (Senior Pharmacist, PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra).
Sumit Suneja highlights need & takes suggestions from the audience
In his address, Mr. Sumit Suneja explained the urgent need for the helpline 9217754140, mentioning that many BPL families skip treatment due to unaffordable medicine costs.
He took valuable suggestions from society presidents and respected residents on how to spread the helpline more effectively. He requested all attendees to actively circulate the number 9217754140 in their societies, neighbourhoods, workplaces, and among all needy families.
The Foundation also announced plans to install posters at chemist shops, doctor clinics, and slum areas to ensure the helpline reaches those who need it most.

Chief Guests Mr. Chandan Kumar and Shri Dheeraj ji praised the initiative, stating, “This programme is above free food and clothes. Because without health, even food and clothing lose their meaning. Health is the real wealth, and initiatives like this uplift society at the deepest level.”
They emphasised that awareness, timely BP and Diabetic testing, and access to medicines can prevent major diseases before they become life-threatening.
Health Officials commended the Initiative
Mr. Rajeev Bhargava, Head of Office, Drug Control Department, GNCT Delhi, appreciated the effort, calling it: “A unique and much-needed initiative that protects poor families from unnecessary treatments and expensive medicines.”
Mr. B.M. Aggarwal, Senior Pharmacist, PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra, said, “This work is excellent. My team and I will wholeheartedly support this initiative.”
Free BP & Diabetic Test Benefits Many Residents
The programme also offered free BP and Diabetic (Sugar) testing, greatly benefitting residents who often miss routine health checks due to lack of time or distance.
The East Delhi Best Delhi Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to expanding health awareness programmes, free medicine assistance, and community welfare activities.
The Foundation urged RWAs, youth groups, and local residents to ensure that the Helpline Number 9217754140 reaches every needy BPL family.
