Greater Noida can now host international matches

Greater Noida : Now, Feroz Shah Kotla is the only International cricket stadium in Delhi-NCR. The Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground has got the ICC approval to stage international matches between Full Members.

Earlier, the ICC granted the stadium permission to stage matches between Associates, paving the way for it to become Afghanistan's adopted home. The stadium has also staged domestic cricket, including the 2016-17 Duleep Trophy, which was played under lights.

The ICC inspected the venue again last week and confirmed that it met all the minimum requirements to stage Full Member matches.

The newly build stadium will give a fierce competition to Kotla as it is in the outskirts of the city and has every available modern facility within it. On the other hand, the historic ground has its own problems including the bad pitch row.
