New Delhi : Mohammed Siraj received appreciation from the cricket fraternity for his brilliant five-wicket haul in the fourth Test match against Australia. Siraj took five wickets and gave away just 73 runs in the second innings of the hosts.

Thanks to Siraj's good performance, Australia was bundled for 294 runs in the second innings; with this the hosts gave India 328 run target to win the game.

In his five wickets, he hunted key Australian batsmen David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith. "A standing ovation as Mohammed Siraj picks up his maiden 5-wicket haul," wrote BCCI on Twitter as he posted a video of Siraj getting applauded by teammates. 



Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan also showered praise on Siraj. "Having to toil in first class cricket is so important. It shows in both, #siraj and #Shardulthakur performance. You could bowl spells after spells in test matches if you have done that regularly in domestic cricket. Well done to both of them!" tweeted former India cricketer Irfan Pathan. 

India’s former opener Virender Sehwag said that the boy has become a man in the series. " The boy has become a man on this tour. Siraj,  Leader of the attack in his first Test series and he has led from.the front. The way newcomers have performed for India on this tour will be etched in memories for a long long time. Will be fitting if they retain the trophy," he said. 

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah’s gesture has also made news.
