New Delhi : Twitter refused to block the accounts of several media personnel, politicians and others, who were allegedly provoking the farmers for protest; and to Centre replied to the social media giant with many Central government employees making a switch to similar platform Koo (Made in India).

Union Ministers like Ravi Shankar Prasad, Smriti Irani and Piyush Goyal have already joined the Koo platform.

"I am now on Koo. Connect with me on this Indian micro-blogging platform for real-time, exciting and exclusive updates. Let us exchange our thoughts and ideas on Koo," said Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

Niti Ayog has also joined the platform and wrote, "From India; For the world!"

Twitter on Wednesday refused to block several accounts which were marked suspicious by the Centre and the social media giant referred to freedom of speech as the reason. On the contrary, Twitter had suspended the account of Donald Trump when the US Capitol riots were taking place a couple of weeks ago.

Koo, which is the winner in the Social category of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge, has reportedly witnessed a 10-fold surge in its downloads in the past two days.
