Canada : Canada has registered a total of 168 monkeypox cases till Friday. The cases have been found nationally, including two cases from British Columbia, four from Alberta, 21 from Ontario and 141 from Quebec.

The authorities are taking measures to spread awareness about monkeypox and its treatment.

In Canada, majority of these cases have been found in men aged between 20 and 69.

However, the virus transmission is not gender based and can happen to anyone who comes in contact with the infected person or the objects they have used like personal objects, towels or bed linens.

According to World Health Organization, Monkeypox is a sylvatic zoonosis that may cause infections in humans and the disease usually occurs in forested parts of Central and West Africa.
