Due to its restricted availability, Bajaj Chetak had a somewhat delayed start when it was first launched in 2020. Chetak sales are increasing now that the network has been extended to encompass the majority of the nation. Chetak was the third best-selling electric two-wheeler in October. In an effort to maintain momentum, Bajaj plans to release revised Chetak electric scooter models soon.

More battery capacity and new versions of Bajaj Chetak Electric

The updated Chetak electric scooter will come in Premium and Urbane versions. There is now only the Premium trim available. Bajaj unveiled the 2023 model in Base and Premium trims earlier this year in March. However, the Base trim was dropped in August. Users will have additional options with the inclusion of the Urbane trim.

In order to correct performance and range disparities with other models, Chetak will have a bigger battery pack. A 3.2 kWh battery pack will now be included in the top-spec Premium version. Its 126 km certified range is ARAI certified. The amount of time it takes to charge might vary with the bigger battery pack. The current Premium model can be fully charged in 5 hours using a regular 5A socket. A new TFT colour instrument display will be another significant improvement. Turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connection are included. The size of the TFT screen is anticipated to be between 5 and 7 inches. Younger audiences, who make up a sizable portion of those who purchase electric two-wheelers, will be drawn to these tech linkages.

Updated price and launch details for Bajaj Chetak

The redesigned Chetak might be released in January 2024. But the launch in December can happen earlier. Regarding pricing, the highest-spec Premium trim might increase in price by around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. In Bengaluru, the ex-showroom pricing of the current model is Rs 1.15 lakh. Three colour variations are available, each at the same cost. The cost of electric scooters varies by state depending on the level of the subsidy. Bajaj Chetak is more prepared to take on competitors because to its increased range, enhanced performance, and new features.

Chetak now behind TVS iQube and Ola Electric by a considerable amount. Between January and September of this year, Ather outperformed Chetak.
