Delhi : Unexpectedly Simple Energy the Bengaluru-based start-up that specializes in electric two-wheelers has started giving refunds to a small number of consumers who booked their first model the Simple One electric scooter in advance. The officials are contacting those who reserved the Simple One EV in advance via phone calls and emails to let them know that their reservations have been cancelled. Simple Energy's official letter guarantees that consumers will get a full refund of their booking cost, with no deductions.

For what reason Simple Energy discontinuing Simple One bookings?

As mentioned in the emails sent to clients and as reported by ACI, Simple Energy claims that it is cancelling the pre-bookings for its electric scooters in order to warn users about "recent fraudulent events involving forged activities under the name of Simple Energy Private Limited." To tackle this problem, Simple Energy has found evidence of fraudulent activity in which users have been tricked by utilising fictitious identities connected to the business.

“Our team is attempting to reach all our customers via telephone. Meanwhile, our intention is to create awareness among our customers about the recent fraudulent happening forging Simple enargy Private Limited. This affects our brand value as customers believe these imposters and lose their hard-earned money. Hence, we are taking this step of initiating the refund to all our customers."

Simple Energy is already cancelling the bookings as a preventative measure and giving customers the option to receive a refund. On the other hand, some people are questioning Simple Energy's decision to pay back Simple One electric scooter booking in light of purported "fraudulent activities." However, once the firm opens experience centers in each city, priority delivery to customers who reserved the scooter in advance would be guaranteed by the company.
