Delhi : Tarun Mehta, the CEO and co-founder of Ather Energy, recently announced on the social networking site X that his company would launch two brand-new scooters in 2019. One of them will be a more reasonably priced scooter that will aid in diversifying the brand's offerings and reaching a wider audience. It is very practical, since it is expected to appeal to Indian families.

Future design improvements will likewise follow an evolutionary path, as the current 450 is already a stylish zero-emission scooter. It is expected that the redesigned packaging would prioritise providing greater room and usability without compromising performance standards. Mehta's affirmation follows Ola Electric's recent S1 range expansion.

Over the next several years, there will be a lot of activity in the electric scooter market as both well-known manufacturers and up-and-coming entrepreneurs want to make a significant effect. While Honda is developing the Activa Electric, Ola plans to introduce new electric bikes onto the market the next year. Recently, new iterations of Chetak and iQube have also been observed testing.

Returning to the budget-friendly Ather e-scooter, it is expected to have a longer and flatter floorboard space in addition to a larger seat and understorage by 2024. Anticipate a range of around 100 km on a single charge. A revised Ather 450 variant will be the other. Mehta stated that as it is an advancement over the current 450 range, it would perform well and have strong acceleration characteristics. He restated that the next electric scooter in the 450 series will have class-leading features and represent the "ultimate pinnacle of refined performance."

He claims that even though it will cost more than the current 450 range and "redefine your riding experience," "it's worth every bit." We do anticipate that the 2024 Ather 450, which is slated to be on sale in the first quarter of 2019, will have better acceleration and possibly even faster peak speeds. The riding range might be increased even further with a bigger battery pack.
