The Future of Transportation Is Here: TVS Announces Their Electric Bikes and Scooters
Delhi : TVS Motor Company plans to expand its offering of electric two-wheelers during the "next 12 quarters". At a recent analyst meeting, TVS CEO K N Radhakrishnan declared that the company wants electric cars in "every area" and that it is actively altering its EV strategy on both the domestic and foreign fronts. In addition to its present export markets, the local two-wheeler maker will introduce its new electric models in a number of industrialized nations, including the US, Europe, and Japan.
He told that TVS will release a "excellent bike with the involvement of BMW, which is fully built by us and is for the international market" as its next electric model. In addition to developing its new EV product, the company will increase TVS iQube e-scooter manufacturing to 25,000 units by March 2023. At this time, the company has 25,000 bookings for the electric scooter.
The TVS iQube, which was introduced in January 2020, had an update in the middle of 2022. A full charge of the scooter's 3.4kWh battery and 4.4kW electric motor gives it a range of 75 kilometres. The most potent iQube ST variant had the larger 5.1kWh battery.
It accelerates from 0 to 40 kph in 4.2 seconds while maintaining a peak speed of 78 kph for the basic model in Power mode, and 82 kph otherwise (top-end ST variant).
The scooter features two riding modes, economy and power, in addition to a reverse option. It has been enhanced by the regenerative braking technology. The company offers three charging choices for the iQube: 650W, 950W, and 1.5W. (ST only).
The e-scooter has been outfitted with a "next-gen TVS SmartXonnect platform" that includes a 5.0-inch TFT instrument cluster and the TVS iQube software. The user has access to features like geo-fencing, navigational help, incoming call and SMS notifications, last park position, and more with either of these. There are now three colours available for it: Shining Red, Pearl White and Glossy Titanium Grey.
