Triumph's Indian-Made Speed 400 & Scrambler 400 X go global, launch in Malaysia

Delhi : The new single-cylinder Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X motorcycles from Triumph Motorcycles are now available in Malaysia. The Triumph 400 twins, which were introduced in India earlier this year, are the brand's most reasonably priced bikes worldwide. The bikes are produced in India at Bajaj Auto's Chakan, Maharashtra, factory in collaboration with the company. Malaysia is among the first international regions to get the motorcycles, and the business has stated that by early 2024, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X will make their way to Europe, including the UK, their home market.

Cost of 2024 Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400 X

In Malaysia, the 2024 Triumph Speed 400 costs 26,900 Ringgit (about ₹4.80 lakh), while the Triumph Scrambler 400 X costs 29,900 Ringgit (around ₹5.33 lakh). That is far more costly than the equivalents in India. The KTM 390 Duke, Modenas Dominar 400 (Bajaj Dominar 400 in India), BMW G 310 R, Kawasaki Z400, and other similar bikes will face competition from the new Triumph Speed 400. In the same class as the Royal Enfield Scram 411, BMW G 310 GS, and the soon-to-be Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X will compete.

Specification of 2024 Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400 X

The 399 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine, rated at 39 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm, powers the Malaysian-spec Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. On both bikes, the 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch are matched with the Euro5-compliant powertrain.

The adventure-ready Scrambler 400 X and the road-focused Triumph Speed 400 have different riding styles, but they both have the same engine, semi-digital instrument panel, all-LED lighting, and a 13-liter fuel tank. In terms of changes, the Speed 400 has a lower seat height and smaller 17-inch alloy wheels that are reminiscent of the Speed Twin's look.
