Delhi : BMW Group India said on Friday that it had delivered 9,580 vehicles and 6,778 motorbikes during the January to September period, marking its best-ever sales record. BMW further stated that, throughout the specified period, it had delivered up to 1,000 of its electric vehicles (EVs) to this location.

The three brands that make up BMW Group India—BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad—all had excellent results. BMW sold 8,998 vehicles out of all automobiles sold between January and September of this year, a 10% increase over the same period the previous year. The BMW iX1 EV, the newest model, sold out on its first day of availability. With the delivery of 582 units, a 10% increase, MINI was also profitable.

BMW Group India recently announced its best-ever half-yearly sales performance in the nation, and the company attributes the overall upward trend to sustained demand for both its conventional and electrified model lines. President of BMW Group India, "We had the best growth in a decade last year, and we're continuing this trend in 2023 with the best-ever half-year and now the best-ever January-September sales as well."

Playing all-rounder

In the luxury automobile market, BMW offers a rather varied range of products, with the X1 at one end of the pricing range and models like the X7 at the other. Demand for and popularity of top-end models, EVs, and entry-level vehicles is all gradually rising. This all-around success is very important to the company as a whole.

He goes on to say that BMW is seeing an unprecedented number of people purchasing premium cars for the first time, and that many of its current customers are making further purchases. According to him, the younger demographic is becoming more and more interested in owning cars, and elements like better infrastructure are also contributing to the favorable perceptions of luxury cars. The concept of YOLO (You Only Live Once), which was prevalent in the Covid era, is still applicable today.

Two wheels for the Tango

BMW Motorrad has also been seeing growth; from January to September, 6,778 of the company's high-end bikes were delivered, a 26% increase over the same time previous year. Together, the 'Made-in-India' BMW G 310 R, G 310 RR, and G 310 GS are particularly well-liked and account for 88% of total sales. According to the company, more expensive sports bikes like the BMW S 1000 RR, M 1000 RR, and M 1000 R are becoming more popular over time.
