Delhi : Renault has released further teasers for the Kardian, the brand's forthcoming entry-level SUV. On October 25, the Renault Kardian, an entry-level SUV aimed for emerging countries, will make its world premiere. The Renault Kiger offered in India and the Kardian are around the same dimensions. But it's mainly for countries in South America and other regions where Dacia, Renault's low-cost brand, isn't available.

Based on the previous generation Dacia Sandero Stepway, the Renault Kardian will have some structural similarities with the latter vehicle. However, in terms of appearance, the entry-level SUV will resemble the Renault family greatly, taking influences from the brand such as split LED headlights, a grille with two layers, and roof rails that have a roofline that resembles a coupe and disappears into the windshield. Renault has added layers of black cladding to the outside to give the wheel arches and bumpers a rugged appearance.

The interior of the next Renault Kardian is also hinted at in the most recent teaser. This features ambient lighting, a four-spoke steering wheel, a driving mode selection, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and more. Although the SUV's powerplant is yet unknown, it is anticipated to feature a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an option of manual or automatic gearbox. Whether this is the same 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine seen on the Kiger in India remains unknown.

There is little chance that the Kardian will visit India. The highly customized Kiger, created especially for the Indian market, is already sold in the nation by Renault. Additionally, the Renault Kiger shares its platform, the CMF-A+, with the Nissan Magnite and the Renault Triber. The CMF-B platform, on which the future Kardian is built, would prove to be costly for the carmaker. The Renault Kardian will be produced in the Brazilian plant of the carmaker.

Renault India intends to launch the next-generation Duster over the next two years, however the Kardian will not be available for purchase. By 2025, a larger, maybe three-row seating version of the third-generation Renault Duster should be on dealership floors. In India, the French carmaker also intends to expand its line of electric vehicles.
