Delhi : C3 Aircross, a new midsize SUV from Citroen that will compete in the Indian market above the C3 hatchback, was just introduced. The new SUV will be sold as a petrol-only vehicle with 90% localisation and will come in two seating arrangements: five-seater and seven-seater. In the upcoming months, it is anticipated to go on sale.

The CMP platform, which is also utilised by the C3 hatchback, is the foundation for the C3 Aircross. The new SUV will, however, be bigger in size, measuring over 4.3 metres in length, 2,671 millimetres in wheelbase, and 200 millimetres in ground clearance. The SUV has a boxy design aesthetic, with C-shaped LED tail lights at the back and daytime-running LED headlamps with a split Y motif at the front.

The C3 Aircross interior has a dual-tone black and beige motif, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full-TFT instrument panel. It is simple and elegantly designed. Several other features include roof-mounted AC vents for the backseat passengers, powered rearview mirrors, and leatherette upholstery. It does not include amenities like a sunroof, wireless charging, or ventilated seats, though.

It only comes with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine.

A 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 110 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque is the sole engine available for the C3 Aircross. There is currently no automatic gearbox option; instead, the engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. A completely electric variant of the C3 Aircross is also being developed, according to Citroen.

A few aesthetic improvements, like body cladding and wheel arch mouldings, front and rear silver skid plates, lift-style door handles, roof rails, and 17-inch machined alloy wheels, have also been added by Citroen for the C3 Aircross. The fifth row of the five-seater variant has two tiny seats attached, and when the third row is folded flat, the boot space is 511 litres, according to the manufacturer.
