Get Ready: 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift soon to hit Indian roads - Everything you need to know

Delhi : After several months of testing, Kia India will probably unveil the redesigned Sonet in the upcoming weeks before its official release. Midway through 2020, Kia debuted its second mass-produced product on the domestic market: the small SUV. The facelift is the model's first significant upgrade. Both the outside and the interior of the cabin will see several modifications. Among other changes to the front, the exterior will feature a reworked front grille section, an updated headlamp cluster that is more noticeable than the outgoing model, new LED daytime running lights, redesigned fog lamp enclosures, and a bigger air intake.

Newly designed alloy wheels, new body cladding, integrated LED tail lamps, modified bumper and tailgate, and possibly new color schemes could be introduced to the selection are further visual highlights. Pictures of the redesigned Sonet for global markets were leaked a few weeks ago, but it has now been established that the India-spec device receives unique design elements.

Five-speed manual, six-speed iMT, seven-speed DCT, and six-speed AT transmissions are among the available options. It will still face competition from the Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Hyundai Venue. Early in 2024, the XUV300 is probably going to get a makeover, and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx-based Toyota Taisor will also go on sale that year.

To improve the premium appeal, the inside will have new controls and surface finishes, an updated instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system modeled by the Seltos facelift, a redesigned dashboard and center console, etc. Top-tier models, like the Hyundai Venue, could be outfitted with ADAS-based driver-assistive and safety technology. The well-known 1.2L NA petrol, 1.5L diesel, and 1.0L turbo petrol engines will remain in place, so we do not anticipate any mechanical modifications to go along with the facelift. The oil burner produces 116 horsepower and 250 Nm, whilst the standard petrol mill produces 83 horsepower and 115 Nm. The highest power output of the turbo gasoline engine is 120 horsepower, and the peak torque is 172 Nm.
