Honda Elevate vs. Citroen C3 Aircross: A SUV showdown
Delhi : This month's launches of the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross SUVs introduced new competitors to the compact SUV market. The Elevate SUV was introduced by Honda Cars on September 5 for a starting MSRP of 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The French car manufacturer unveiled the C3 Aircross SUV last week for 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) as an introductory price. In order to compete with some of the market giants like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara, among others, both SUVs have been priced aggressively. Here is a comparison of the two vehicles' prices, features, engines, and other specifications.
Comparing the specifications of the Honda Elevate with Citroen C3 Aircross
The only SUV in its class that comes in both five- and seven-seat variations is the Citroen C3 Aircross. The SUV is 1,796 mm in width, 1,669 mm in height, and 4,323 mm in length. The wheelbase of the C3 Aircross is 2,671 mm, and it has a 200 mm ground clearance. The third row can be removed to create more room in the boot, which has a capacity of 444 to 511 liters.
The Honda Elevate SUV is a little bit smaller than the C3 Aircross. The Elevate is 1,790 mm broad, 1,650 mm tall, and 4,312 mm long. However, the Elevate SUV offers the maximum 220 mm ground clearance among its competitors and a 2,650 mm wheelbase. The Elevate's boot has a capacity of 458 liters.
Features of the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross are compared
Both SUVs are rather basic in terms of features when compared to some of their Korean competitors. The Honda Sensing ADAS suite of the Honda Elevate SUV includes one extra feature. After the Kia Seltos, it is the only model in its segment to incorporate ADAS technology. As additional important safety features, the Elevate provides a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, up to six airbags, Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA).
There are fewer features available with the C3 Aircross. The SUV includes linked car technology, a 10.2-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 7-inch digital driver display, among other features. In contrast to the Elevate, none of the models of the C3 Aircross have a sunroof. Along with other security measures, the French SUV has dual airbags as a standard feature, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assistance, and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Engine and economy comparison between the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross
On paper, the French SUV is less potent than the Honda Elevate SUV. The Honda Elevate has just one available engine under the hood. The naturally aspirated 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is coupled to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed CVT gearbox. The engine can produce a maximum torque of 145 Nm and a power output of 119 horsepower.
One engine is also available for the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. The sole available transmission for the 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine is a six-speed manual. Later, Citroen might provide C3 Aircross buyers the option of an automatic transmission. The engine has a max torque of 190 Nm and a power output of 110 horsepower. The fuel efficiency of the Honda SUV is 15.31 km/l in manual models and 16.92 km/l in automatic versions. According to ARAI certification, the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV has a mileage rating of 18.5 km per gallon.
Cost comparison between the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross
Both SUVs have been aggressively priced in order to compete with their more well-known competitors in the compact sector. The top-tier Elevate SUV costs 16 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The C3 Aircross's highest pricing (ex-showroom), which includes seven seats, a dual-tone exterior, and the Vibe Pack, is 12.90 lakh.
