India says goodbye to Kia Carnival: Discontinued model removed from official website (kia.com)

Delhi : Kia India Private Limited has officially declared that the outgoing Carnival luxury MPV would be phased out of the Indian market. The business decided to discontinue the third-generation Carnival in India to make room for the fourth-generation Carnival, which was presented there under the new brand KA4. The model's removal from the Kia website serves as official proof that domestic manufacture of the current Carnival has come to an end.

Since April, when the BS6 Phase 2 emission standards went into effect, the majority of Kia dealers, according to trustworthy sources, have stopped taking new orders for the departing Carnival. Few unsold copies are currently still available at a few limited shops. In order to satisfy the needs of Indian clients, the Carnival was domestically constructed in India using CKD kits.

The fourth-generation Carnival, which was revealed as the KA4 MPV at the most recent Auto Expo, will soon be available on the Indian market. For the intention of keeping Indian buyers from being confused, Kia purposely avoided using the term Carnival while the third-generation vehicle was still available on the market at the time of the Auto Expo. After three full years of sales of the fourth-generation Carnival, which was officially introduced in June 2020, Kia has already begun work on a mid-lifecycle upgrade that will be on sale in the first part of 2024.

The fourth-generation Carnival's upgraded model will be introduced in India, bringing the Indian market into line with the global product lifecycle. The future KA4, as it will be called on a global scale, will continue to go by the name Carnival, and it is anticipated to cost more than the current model. Large two-tone mirrors, strong cutlines separating the front and back lights, muscular wheel arches, and black/chrome side panel mouldings will all be part of its striking appearance. A skid plate, reflectors, LED taillights, and a new rear bumper will also be included. There will be 17- and 19-inch alloy wheel options for the KA4.

The fourth-generation Carnival KA4 will feature an entirely redesigned interior. It will have a brand-new dashboard with wood trim, two 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument panel, and a dual-tone Beige and Brown colour scheme. A novel design will be shown on the centre console. Multi-zone climate control, motorised folding back doors, and dual sunroofs will all be standard features.

The KA4 will be outfitted with a wide variety of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for safety. There will be numerous airbags as well as safety features like forward collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, parking distance warning-reverse, lane keeping assist system, high beam assist, and driver attention warning.

In terms of drivetrain choices, the Carnival is available on the worldwide market with three different engines: a new 2.2L Smartstream engine, a 3.5L GDi V6 Smartstream engine, and a 3.5L V6 MPi petrol engine. While the 2.2L and 3.5L Smartstream engines create 290 horsepower with 355 Nm and 199 bhp with 440 Nm of torque, respectively, the 3.5L petrol engine produces 268 bhp and 332 Nm. The present 2.2L diesel engine, with its 200 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque, is anticipated to be made available in India together with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
