Delhi : The market is experiencing record-breaking demand for SUVs. While premium hatchbacks and small cars continue to dominate the market in this nation, sales of sedans are steadily declining. The top 3 sedans in India, the Hyundai Verna, Honda Amaze, and Maruti Dzire, will all receive generation updates from automakers in an effort to revive the sedan market.

Hyundai Verna: New-Gen

The new Hyundai Verna's launch date is yet to be announced. However, according to the reports, its mass production will start the following month (March), and the market launch will take place in the second quarter of 2023. Under the hood, one of the significant updates will be made.Instead of the current 120bhp 1.0L turbo engine, the new-generation Verna will have a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. Along with dual screen setup, wireless smartphone connectivity, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), the sedan will also have these features. The new Verna will be wider and longer than the previous model.

Honda Amaze: New-Gen

The new generation of the Honda Amaze will debut sometime in 2019. The upcoming new Honda mid-size SUV, which is scheduled for the holiday season of 2023, will share a platform with the sedan's new model. Its design might take some cues from the global-spec Accord and new City. Its interior design will also be somewhat similar to that of the HR-V and Accord, which are offered in international markets. The free-standing touchscreen infotainment system for the 2024 Honda Amaze is anticipated to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Amaze's 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 90 bhp and 110 Nm of torque.

Maruti Dzire: New-Gen

In 2024, the Dzire compact sedan from Maruti Suzuki will transition to a new generation. According to media reports, the brand-new Dzire will have a long range. A new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine enhanced by Toyota's potent hybrid technology will be featured in it. The sedan is said to get between 35 and 40 kmpl in ARAI-certified mileage. Additionally, the new motor complies with the upcoming CAFÉ II standards. Significant alterations to both the exterior and interior are anticipated.
