Delhi : In comparison to 2022, Kia India anticipates growth of 8–10% this year. Kia India is hoping that an enhanced chip supply chain and the country's introduction of the Seltos facelift will help the automaker achieve stronger sales in 2023. In 2022, Kia India sold 3.4 lakh vehicles in total on the local and overseas markets. The Seltos, Sonet, EV6, and Carens are among the current models sold in the nation by the South Korean auto giant. In the past, it also sold Carnival MPV in India. The Carnival MPV, though, was later dropped.

Hardeep Singh Brar, national head of sales and marketing at Kia India, predicted a 10% increase in sales for the automaker this year. Additionally, he reportedly stated that he expects the automobile brand to continue to expand faster than the broader passenger industry in the second half of 2023. The Kia representative is optimistic that the industry's overall volumes will remain close to 40 lakh units in 2023. "Industry growth for the first six months was 10%. Our growth rate was 12%.

Therefore, as in every previous year, we have outperformed the market, Brar continued, noting that the second half will not be as strong a growth time for the Indian auto industry. The high base of 2022 will be a limiting issue for the business, he continued.

The first six months of 2022 saw approximately 18 lakh units sold by the Indian auto sector, from January to June. According to the Kia source, it was almost 20 lakh units this year. He went on to say that the second half saw an industry volume of roughly 19.5 lakh units.

So a very slight increase from 19.5 lakh units to 20 lakh units will be the case. The base is high for us as well, but for instance, even if it is at 12% in the first half, we would still like to expand at 8 to 10% so that we can maintain that pace of 4-5% higher than the industry, Brar added.

The anticipation of growth is mostly due to improvements made to the chip supply chain. According to Brar, compared to 2022, there is now a much better supply of essential microchips. Additionally, the introduction of the Seltos, Kia India's best-selling vehicle, in a facelifted form, is also anticipated to increase sales overall in 2023.
