Delhi : The LXS Moonshine special edition electric scooter, based on the Lectrix LXS standard model, was introduced by Lectrix EV on Thursday. The new EV's pricing information, however, has not been made public by the company. The limited-edition electric scooter, according to the electric vehicle startup, was introduced to honor India's historic moon landing on August 23, 2023. The special edition scooter has the same appearance as the conventional LXS but is distinguished from it by the particular livery it has on its body.

The company claims that the Lectrix Moonshine's golden insignia, which features two arrows pointing upward, symbolizes India's impending space age. In actuality, the space age sign is a modified version of Lectrix's own company logo. The special edition electric scooter is identical to the ordinary LXS variant save from minor cosmetic alterations.

There is no mechanical change. On a single charge, the Lectrix Moonshine claims an 89 km range. The electric scooter can go at a top speed of 50 kmph thanks to a 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack and a 1200-watt electric motor. Like the normal LXS, the Lectrix Moonshine can accelerate from 0 to 25 kilometers per hour in five seconds. Three to four hours are needed to completely charge the battery.

The 10-inch front and rear wheels on the Lectrix Moonshine are fitted with tubeless tires. Drum brakes are used on the front and rear wheels in conjunction with the combi-braking system (CBS) to stop the vehicle. The scooter has telescoping front forks and coil springs in the back for suspension.

The Moonshine comes as Lectrix's effort to encourage its customers to aim and reach their own personal objectives, inspired by India's achievement in the Chandrayaan 3 moon trip, said K. Vijaya Kumar, MD and CEO of Lectrix EV.
